*NEW* March News Letter
Wed, 24 Mar 2010
Welcome to the first edition of Henry Hirst's news letter where you can catch up on what weve been doing since the start of the New Year and what we plan to do over the next quarter.
After 3 days of auditing both Henry Hirst manufacturing sites in Newcastle and Barrhead, Glasgow (D&R Stevenson) have worked very hard to retain it's high standards and once again acheived a Grade A in our BRC EFFSIS accreditation. This was a very thorough examination of our sites and procedures and with the continuing changing demand in food safety regulations, the determination and commitment from the management team and Production operatives, both sites acheived the standards required.
As most people are already aware there has been huge change and focus on consumers attitudes towards the environment and reducing food miles. Over the last 8-10 months Henry Hirst have seen a vast interest in the demand for British meat products, particulary pork related products. Since the summer of 2008 we have increased our range of British Bacon and the company are now Red Tractor/Charter accredited for both Gammons and Sliced Bacon. This now allows us to increase our range to include products with "Provenance" for those customers who wish to pursue this important sector. These products are sold under our Henry's Deliciously Simple Brand.
In March we held a stand at the NEC Food & Drink EXPO with suppliers from around all 4 corners of the UK and Europe. We had on display our newly expanded range of Henry's Deliciously Simple products including British & Dutch Back Bacon, a range of Gammon joints and also the Henry's retail 200g & 400g packs.
Our sales team worked very hard in ensuring the 4 day event was a sucess with a special thanks to Craig Newton & Philip Burns in ensuring that the pre-planning of the event ensured a successful outcome.
John Lees (Managing Director) thought the stand was very well planned and would like to thank all members of the team involved for their huge efforts but the biggest thank you goes to all of our current and potential customers who made it all worth while.
Over the next few months we will be concentrating on developing new products into the Henry's Delciously Simple brand and if you would like to enjoy the benefits of one of the growing Bacon brands in the UK contact us via our on-line enquiry form and one of our friendly sales team will contact you as soon as possible.
